CSIS, Canada’s spy agency, is warning health academics of an increased risk of intellectual property theft of health research related to COVID-19.
They have identified areas that may be targeted by foreign governments or companies:
- Medical advancements (vaccines, therapeutic treatments);
- New technologies (diagnostic equipment)
- Medical equipment (PPE)
- Research and sensitive date (including personal health data)
Recognizing that international collaboration is a key component of health research, we encourage our Fellows to proceed with caution, and consult this document prepared by CSIS.
Concerns of any kind should be referred to CSIS at: 613 993-9620 or by clicking here.
