A Colleague Warmly Remembered
|

It is with sadness that we remember our colleague, Dr. Sumit ‘Me2’ Majumdar, University of Alberta, who passed away on January 19, 2018. Me2 was a well-respected and acclaimed clinician-scientist in the Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Medicine. He graduated from the University of Alberta School of Medicine in 1992 and was a Professor in the Department of Medicine, held a Patient Health Management Chair. His interdisciplinary research involved complex medical conditions such as osteoporosis, diabetes, hypertension, heart and lung diseases and obesity. He held funding from Alberta Innovates, CIHR and many other peer-reviewed organizations Sumit was inducted into the Academy in 2017. We were honoured to have Sumit and his wife, Dr. Anisa Khaliq, join us in Ottawa in September and participate in the Induction Ceremony. Our deepest sympathies are extended to his wife, Dr. Anisa Khaliq, children and extended family. |
