Richard Fedorak, MD is Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta and an internationally recognized leader in Gastroenterology. His research has provided new insight into the role of bacteria in the initiation and perpetuation of intestinal inflammation and has led to high impact human probiotic clinical trials. He founded the Alberta Society of Gastroenterology, served as President, Canadian Association of Gastroenterology and President, World Congress of Gastroenterology. Currently, he is President, Canadian Digestive Health Foundation and has launched the highly innovative Center of Excellence for Gastrointestinal Inflammation and Immunity Research and serves as Director, Northern Alberta Clinical Trials and Research Center. He was recently honored as Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London.
